Sophia Loren was always and is always completely and utterly sexy without even the slightest hint of vulgarity. She had quite a few amazing moments in fashion and is considered a style icon by many, including myself. She is, like Marilyn Monroe, the epitome of "bombshell" beauty. Everything about her oozed class and sex appeal- her physical attributes, her fashion, her beauty, and her attitude. Here are some of my personal favorite fashion moments of the gorgeous Sophia Loren!

Enjoy and thank you so much for reading, it means alot! Any comments are always appreciated!

Style Trends of the 1920s

The 1920s were indeed roaring! So much in fashion changed during this time-from women's under garments to dresses. There were no more corsets or bustles and hemlines were much higher from calf length to knee length (for a brief period in the mid to late 20s). Very thin, boyish figures were very fashionable during this period, as the particular style of clothing fell better on such figures than a curvy woman. Larger busted women actually would wrap their chests to flatten them to better suit the fashions. The things we do for fashion, right? (Hehe;-)

Here are some of the fashion and style trends from the roaring 20s:

What was in for Clothing and Fashion: Sleeveless garments, beading, plunging necklines and low backs, knit sweaters, dropped waists, calf and knee length skirts, hats, feathers, lace, fur, mary jane shoes

What was in for Makeup: The eyes were the emphasis in the 20s. Smokey eye makeup and false eye lashes with very thin eye brows. Lips were usually made to look more narrow, dark and very defined.

What was in for Hair: The short "bob" was in. Wearing it straight, wavy or curly, all were seen in the 20s. Short hair was very chic.

Some great vintage 20s dresses:

1) 1920's Deco Electric Blue Sequin and Auroraborealis Beaded Flapper Overdress, $785, Antique Dress.

2) 1923 Black Net Multicolored Beaded Overdress! $885, Antique Dress.

3) 1926 YVONNE, Paris Gold Beaded Cotton Net Flapper Dress! Handmade in France! In Nearly Mint Condition. $2,685. Antique Dress.

4) 1925 Black Silk and Crepe Flapper Dress with Slit Skirt Front. $1,595. Antique Dress.

5) 1920's Pink Velvet Party Dress with gold metal lace and fabric. Excellent Condition. $345. Hemlock Vintage.

The Always Incredible Audrey Hepburn!

Audrey Hepburn was born on May 4, 1929 and passed away on January 20, 1993. During her lifetime she was not only a style icon and talented actress but also an incredible humanitarian. She spent many years later in her life working for UNICEF. She is also, to this day, considered one of the most beautiful women in the world and has been an inspiration to many, not just for her style, beauty, and talent but for her kind hearted nature and good deeds.

Cocktail Rings!

Cocktail rings are a great way to display style-especially your unique personal style (Being Unique is key to being a style icon, after all!). Cocktail rings are almost always better when they're costume than when they're real. Vintage or vintage inspired rings are really special and eye-catching. They're also meant to be bold and make a statement so don't be shy, go big and dramatic!

I love bold, glamorous nature inspired rings....David Webb makes incredible ones with these qualities. They're superb quality and worth the price by far! This one has a hefty price tag ($6,300.00) but as an animal lover, I'm in utter awe of it!

You can find an abundant amount of styles from romantic and feminine to rocker and punk styles. No matter what your personal style, you can find a cocktail ring (or several!) to match it!

Here are some great vintage Cocktail Rings to inspire you! These are all available at Etsy's. They're all under $40!

Add A Little Vintage with...A Brooch

A Beautiful vintage brooch can add a unique touch to a modern or otherwise ordinary outfit. They aren't just for your grandma anymore!

You can wear them in so many different ways, that it pays to have a couple in your jewelry box. Why not go vintage too? It adds a specialness to any outfit to have a piece of jewelry that tells a story all it's own! Here are a few ideas on how to wear brooches:

1) You can add a beautiful brooch to a hairstyle to add an unexpected touch of glamour!

2) Try pinning a small brooch to a cute hat for an added element of personalized style.

3) The old stand by-Wear one on a jacket or blazer, of course!

4) Use a brooch to fasten a wrap or cardigan.

5) Put a brooch on a low backed dress, or on a bustle or bow detailing of a dress to add further visual interest to the rear view of a dress or gown.

You can find vintage brooches in so many places, maybe even your grandma's jewelry box, but here are a few great examples:-)
